Meet MOPS Mom: Stevie

Name: Stephanie "Stevie" Lee Knauss, Care Groups

Spouse: Tony, Married 6 years
Children: TJ, 4 years and Jaxen, 2 years

Best part of being a mom: Watching my childen learn and grow and just knowing I am part of that sweet miracle :)

The theme for 2013-2014 is "A Beautiful Mess" what does this mean to you:  That life may not always be as organized and as pefect as you would like, but it is beautiful no matter what... I think most moms would say their life is a "Beautiful Mess." Its just part of being a parent, I guess.

Favorite thing to do in the Mankato area with your kids/family: We enjoy skiing at Mt. Kato in the winter, playing in the water (Swimming, fishing, boating) at Lake Washington in the summer, going to the Children's Museum, and walking to the many parks around our house.

Book you recommend to everyone:  The most recent one I read for book club was "Gone Girl." It was a page turner.

What chore do you hate the most?  Folding laundry and emptying the dishwasher.

Favorite flavor of ice cream? Mint Chocolate Chip

After you had kids, what characteristic about your spouse did you appreciate? He works hard and plays harder. As in, he works all day long and then takes the kids and plays to give me a break, even though he is exhausted.

List one item on your "bucket list":  To witness a baby being delivered, beside my own.

Do you dye your hair?  The only time I ever dyed my hair was my Sophomore year of high school... my friend put blue streaks in my hair. Wow, cool!

What's one thing your children have taught you?  Patience, patience, patience! And that I could love someone so unconditionally!

What is something you do "just for yourself"? Ski team, MOPS, Book Club with my friends.

Sometimes our parents do something "right", what's one thing you learned from your mom/dad that you will be sure to pass on?  Every night we sit at the table as a family and have dinner. Both my husband and I did that growing up and it stuck with us.

What is a family tradition you started:  Every Sunday night we eat dinner at my parents house, Every Friday night we let the kids choose what to have for dinner... most of the time its orange chicken. I swear though, our lives don't revolve around food.  :)
